Round Barn Guitars began production just before Covid began to show up. The original intent was to produce a few instruments and get the word out to classical guitar players that they could purchase a quality hand-crafted guitar for a reasonable price. Covid and the shutdowns made this a difficult strategy to follow. However, being shut down in a shop at home was an ideal situation to continue to build guitars.

Ideally, we should have a representative model for each of the different options we offer. We’re close to that with two different top bracing patterns for the standard size instrument, a flamenco, an expanded size “larger but not jumbo”, and a double top.

Our method of production

A Round Barn Classical Guitar is built using a design that has been thoughtfully developed by master luthier Brian Burns based on years of experience. The influence of a host of luthiers that followed de Torres from the 19th Century is clearly present. Hand crafted components, the use of hide glue in construction, the French Polish finishing process and meticulous voicing ensures that each instrument will be exceptional. These guitars have excellent clarity through all ranges.
