Round Barn Guitars produces two versions of classical guitars. The differentiation is in the top bracing pattern.
Tradional Braced
The traditional version uses a bracing pattern that has been adapted by Brian Burns. It has five fan braces with wing braces on each side of the lower bout. There are also braces in the upper bout that run under the openings of the two harmonic bars.
Open Harmonic Bar
Open Harmonic Bar was developed by Jeffrey Elliott. It differs from the traditional pattern in that it has seven fan braces and three harmonic bars, all open. The outer four fan braces run from the lower bout up to the soundhole reinforcement and the outermost braces connect with braces that run through the upper bout. This pattern was developed to get increased participation in sound production from the upper bout.
